Remote Start Install?

I used the search option. That said... has anyone installed their own remote start on any 91-94 240sx (mine is auto so this is not a question aboot clutch bypass or anything). I tryed to install mine but I was sent out here (iraq) before I could fix it. My problem is that the remote start will start the engin but it keeps on cranking after started. I hooked the "tach sensor" wire up to the tach wire in the gauge cluster and the only things I read on the internet say hook up "tach sensor" wire at ECU in the right side kick pannel. If its the same wire it should make no difference. A guy in my Batallion says I gotta hook up a wire directly to the starter but I think hes talking crap. Am I missing a step? People with first hand knowedge of this please help.

((Iraq sucks a$$ incase any of you were wondering))

Well if your alarm does not have any options for starting like # of secs to start, then you might have to hook up your tach sensor wire to the starter. The wire needs to be connected to an AC source. I hooked mine up to my RPM signal in the gauge cluster but it could not detect any fluctuations. I would have to rev it up and down for it to detect any "AC" signal.

Your best bet is if you have no starting options, hook up the tach wire to the starter.

I do have a switch to addjust "crank time" but it seems to do nothing. If I were to hook the wire up to the starter which wire am I looking for on the starter?
Thanks a butt load.

Well if it does nothing, it seems like you have to set ur alarm to "tachless" mode so the crank time will work. It was too much trouble for me trying to locate a good AC signal so I didn't use it.

Heres what my manual says:

Tach Reference Mode provides reliable remote starting performance though engine speed sensing. When using
Tach Reference Mode, the WHITE/RED wire is used for Tach signal [Engine RPM] input. Most modern engines
include various points where the Engine Speed [Tach] or A/C signal may be obtained. Tach Signal examples:
Negative (-) side of ignition coil, at the Distributor or Ignition Control Module, Coil Pack, Engine Computer, or
Crankshaft Sensor. Sometimes Fuel injection solenoids, and Alternator stator pins can be used.
