I checked. Pretty much just need a running car without any mechanism problems and a FIA cage for tandems. No unexpired harness nor authentic seats required.

But you didn't answer my question? California Genius. GTFO with the Florida BS. The question wasn't just for a single track in 1 state.

its my understanding that bride reps don't have to meet safety standards and aren't crash tested... I wouldn't exactly risk my safety.......but you can

I've owned 2 pairs of bride reps and their fine. I would rather have a fake seat and a FIA harness then a fake belt and a real seat.

Not everyone requires the FIA rules. That is why I made this thread because some local non competition tracks don't care about FIA.

a good belt isnt going to do anything when your knock off seat breaks in half in an accident and snaps your back, there are a few seats that are trustable that arent FIA like buddy club, Parts shop max, Status, cheaper sparco's, cheaper recaro's. brands that sell FIA seats make their cheaper seats to the same standard they just dont pay for the cert testing thus the cheaper price. i wouldn't trust a knock off bride made in some sweatshop by some little kid, there is no quality control. there is few things you can cheap out on, and safety definitely is not one of those things

i don't think anyone can answer your question since we don't know your location other than "florida" and we don't know what your local events are. since we don't know these things, but you do, why don't you contact said events (as suggested before) and ask them yourself? thus, this thread is useless

I'm not usually one to support reps, but I will say that my bride rep was the only reason I walked away from this without injury or even any soreness the next day.

Dude hit me hard enough to break both locking tabs on my buddy club seat rail...

I've owned both real and replica bride seats and can honestly say that the quality of the frp shell doesn't seem to be much different between the two. People also seem to forget that for a really long period of time the only bride seats with any homologation were the Zeta and Gardis. This means that their other seats either didn't undergo testing or didn't meet the required standards. I do believe that all of the new bride fixed back models are FIA certified now though.

I'm not even sure why people even look at brides when they are considering seats for a serious track car when companies like recaro and sparco have been doing things better for longer. I guess they just don't look as cool or have the same fanboy appeal.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

EXACTLY! No real racecar has Bride seats, they are looked at as a joke. Sparco and Recaro are vastly superior as far as competition seats go. People act like its so safe to be in a Bride road car seat in their shitbox 240, makes no sense. A proper full containment seat with a hans and 6 point harness with a *real auto racing helmet, not a shitty motorcycle helmet AND a proper cage is the way to go if safety is of a major concern... but people say "oh thats overkill"... where do you draw the line

wow that looks like one hell of a wreck! rustys car, not the selfie.
glad your alright. i guess all the horror stories of seats snapping in half and backs breaking led me to believe a rep seat isnt a good idea whatsoever.

to have an FIA certified car you need an FIA certified cage, as well as an FIA certified seat and harness system. I do believe the seat cannot be on sliders, nor can the harness be mounted via harness bar. A fuel cell is required, iirc, as well as a plethora of other modifications that essentially render your car undesirable for street use.

If you want just an FIA cage its gonna be useless. Homologation standards do expire, for Helmets and suits it is 5 years and for seats I believe around 15. 2014 just released a new standard.

Belts, bought used, are unacceptable as they are typically replaced after impacts. Just because a belt didnt fail doesnt mean it is still safe.

A window net is required for a closed cockpit vehicle. As well as emergency accessible kill switches for both you and track personnel. On top of switches, a fire suppression system is required.

Theres a bunch of appendixes on the requirements for FIA certification, many of which are publicly available at no cost. So please search for more info.

Also, keep in mind, hardly any racing sanctioning bodies require FIA certification and compliance if racing within the US. I am assuming you arent racing internationally, otherwise you would know where and how to obtain this information, therefore all of rhis is excessive and probably irrelevant to your true needs.

The ACCUS is open 9-5 I believe, located in Colorado. Calling them would not hurt you, however they dont typically humor questions of this nature.

They only have picture books in Florida.

I would not trust Bride seats, even real ones, or any Japanese aftermarket safety device for that matter.

Did the Bryde seat really save you? Because the stock seat next to it appears perfectly fine as well. And I bet it would not even break any tabs on the seat rail if you were sitting in it.

^^^Passenger seat broke at the base on the right side (where the bottom and top cushion meet), meant to put that in the original post. My passenger was fine as well but she was pretty damn sore the next day and ended going to the chiro a few times. I will concede that the buddy club rail is an absolute piece of garbage though.

I do agree with you on the first point though and that was what I was trying to get at in my original post.
