SR20 Install: Days 1 and 2

Day 1: Some maniac named Joe Vick shows up at my house with a redtop 180sx front clip from Jarco. Joe worked his @ss off helping me get the clip off the trailer -- great guy!

Jarco said that the car had been in a pretty bad accident so it needs a radiator, fan shroud and possibly a fan (can I use the KA items? we'll see). The CAS case is broken too; but the unit might still be operational.

The clip came with a few extras: mad tyte JDM cupholder, empty JDM espresso drink, mad tyte JDM RAZO pedals, Ohlins super struts (fronts only) and an HK$ Turbo Timer. It appears stock otherwise (no aftermarket DP or intake. WTF?).

The 1JZ MKIII Supra front clip on the trailer had an HK$ supermegapowerflo filter/intake and a thick TRUST FMIC.

--------------
Day 2: Drop the rear subframe off the donor car. This was pretty easy: 8 bolts, disconnect ebrake, disconnect brake lines, unbolt shocks, lower.

Install VLSD subframe. The only tricky part of this was making sure that the the subframe goes onto the body mounts evenly. The complete K-frame is absolutly the way to go for a VLSD conversion.

--------------
Some things I learned so far:

Japanese cars do not have safety glass. The broken windshield from the clip produced these lethal 3" long slivers of glass that penetrate your skin REALLY EASILY.

Moving the clip around with an engine hoist is a PITA.

If they say the clip has been in an accident AVOID IT!

More to come!
Todd
