Ok, im getting 1300 dollars in 1 week..But I'm not to sure what to actually get. Im going for looks, and power.. to impress people of course.
Here's My list of different options. Option 1: I can get the alladdin 2000 system for 359 Installed. I can get the Battle Gtr wing along with the paintjob for 300. A Rockford Fosgate 12" 1000W Sub with a V-Tech Styled Box. A catback exhaust for 280, K&N Air filter for 50, and a Paint Job for 100 (Im related to someone that paints cars) That gets to be aroud 1300 almost, but I'm still not to sure about the exhaust yet. Option 2: I can get all that above except the exhaust and get an Injen intake with the cold air extension for 290, that will also be aroud 1300. Option 3: Just found out I could buy these 17" white DTM rims for 410 shipped. Then I can get these Nankang tires for 399. Then I could buy that spoiler for 300, and 100 for the paint, and then id have 100 left over. (Only problem is that I dont know if these wheels would fit..says they only have the 40 Offset wheels? I dont know what that is all about, and the tires are 215/40R-17 83H, whatever that means. I need to know if they'd fit my car..96 240SX. But anyways, I wont get no power out of this option, but I do get the good deals on the wheels, because they are goign out of business..Take a look at wholesalewheel.com Those are my 3 options, and I need help deciding on what option plan i should go with...any new ideas would be great. By The way.. What's your plans for your 240? |

Option 1 sounds good for what you want to do. But I would get the Injen Intake or don't get anything at all. Also I wouldn't bother getting the Cold Air Extension, it isn't worth the money IMHO.
Exhaust helps on s14's quite a bit, as long as it is a good design, what one did you have planned? I wouldn't get wheels unless you plan to lower the car. with 215/40/17's on stock suspension your nice looking ride will look like a retro off terrain vehicle. Alarm sounds like a good idea as does the system, but I'm not a big fan of stereo's so my opinion isn't much use to you in this department Skip the wing. |

IMHO,
[1] Buy the Cat back...it will add spice and punch to your car (not supersonic...but enuff to make u happy for a bit...plus it sounds REAL gud [2] Buy an intake...I've heard the same about cold intakes...marginal diff so I think stick w/ reg. [3] Rims i like. but i think 16 wuld suffice and then drop your car.(I think deep well rims would look gud on the 240) [4] Suspension [5] Then TURBO BABY!!!! that is the order that i wud do upgrades. Then I would finish it off with a SIMPLE body kit. Nothing flashy...just simple. ****of course these are BROAD brush strokes and there are finer details that i haven't gone into... ****actually i change my mind...buy the cat back, do the intake....then save the rest and go TURBO!! sorry kind of a long post |

Hmm... what does IMHO mean? Im still trying to figure out why people dont like the wing. Is it because of the looks? Anyways,In 2 years ill have the oppurtunity to get a 20000 dollar car, or fix up the 240.. whichever i want. I have no clue how all that turbo works, and how u would get it on there. I seen like a Stage 2 or 3, i dunno, but it was like 6000 dollars. I dont have enough for a bodykit, if i were to get the wheels..but im sure i could find some good prices around. I like the bomex front bumber myself, looks pretty badass, think its....400 or something.

IMHO = In My Honest Opinion
Injen Intake is for sale on Groupbuycenter.com from Shawn @ Enjukuracing.com. Dont bother with the Cold Air Extension (CAE) Buy Wheels and then get suspension. Springs should cost about $200. Shox are another $300-$400. If your going for power and looks then suspension is a double bonus, it adds lots to your looks and it helps perform and increases the fun factor a great deal! Then save some and get the Cat Back. |

That would almost be bordering my budget, about 1240. How much do the springs lower the car, and how much would u think it would cost to install it? ITs pretty much the intallation prices that are holding me back. If i were to get the wheels, Im guessing it would cost...40 dollars, correct me if im wrong. 40 for the intake, and whatever for the springs. I might have to get more money, hehe

So far, it looks like i now Have 4 options. First off, let me tell you that I have a Champagne colored 240sx with hubcaps, and no spoiler.
OPtion1 359-security 300-wing 153-hx2 speaker 50-speaker box 400-catback exhaust 40-instalation TOTAL:1302 (No Paint Job) Option2: 359-Security 153- HX2 Speaker 50- Speaker box 400-Catback exhaust 200-Injen intake 80-INstallation TOTAL: 1242 (need to get $42 for the paint) Option C: 359- Security 153-Hx2 Sub 50-Speaker Box 300-Wing 200-Injen Intake 40-Installation TOTAL: $1102 (with paintjob and 95 left over) Option 4: 810- Rims +tires 200-Intake 80-100 Installation TOTAL: 1090-1110 dollars (With Paintjob, and 100 left over) Now to decide what option im going to go with...hehe, I kinda like Option 2. But, i like Option 4 too. |

like everyone said.. forget the wing.
it makes it look too ricey and reminds me of sumthing that belongs on an Integra or a riced-up honda... as for the mods, i think #1 will get u the most performance mods.... i'm not a real audiophile, so i don't care for big subs or wutever... simple stuff. i've never seen a 240/S14 wif aftermarket shocks yet... wonder what it looks like? hmmmm... a simple bodykit would be cule... the one that i like is a VIS racing kit for the S14.. very simplistic. but like expensive |

Yeah, the wing sux. Get an aluminum if you're gonna get somethin that big. A small one though, and only get it if you're gonna back it up with HP.
Personally I think a nice car should have a nice system. Doesn't have to be huge, but enough bass to make the seats rumble. |

Options 2 and 4 are good, but what do you really want a showcar or performance car.
I would go with option one. The car stock is very sluggish. I installed just k&n cone intake (no tubing), a cat back exhaust and she runs amazing. The system will definiatly improve driver enjoynent. But keep I mind. If you install a wing you are adding weight. And if you put on 17" rims, be perpaired to loose time off the line. This car without an intake and exhaust will be even more sluggish with big rims. So stick with one, and ready your car for the wing and rims. Because all that stuff looks much better when it is not being viewed through your opponents rear view mirror. |
