Has anyone ever used wheel spacers on a 240???

i rushed into getting some rims for my 240sx....i bought some Volk racing LE28N but the thing is that they are more like honda and acura rims there like 17 by 7.5 they stick in bad,,,and with the money i spent on them i dont want new rims but people have told me that if i just bought some rear wheel spacers they should bring my rims right next to the car for a nice tuck. and get some bigger tires to equal them out i have 205 or 215 some shit on them and they look real slim and small....so if anybody had used or bought or tried out wheel spacers hit me up i want to know how they worked for ya!!!!! thanks
