Gauge cluster lights up when brake is pressed

Never really noticed it until today and it kind of had me thinking. I've never noticed that my gauge cluster lights up when i step on my brake pedal. My headlights aren't turn on at all either. Could it be that there is something wired up incorrectly causing it to do this? Is it supposed to do this? haha!

Thanks guys.

My friend had an Integra that had the dash lights turn on every time he pressed the brakes, it had been doing it since he bought it, I checked everything out for linke an hour and it turned out that some asshat shoved a wrong bulb (dual filament where it should have been single filament) into one of the tail light sockets. So I would check the car out for something simple as a fuse or the light bulbs first.

It could be the wrong bulb, or in my case the dual filament somehow melted onto one another causing a dual-circuit. When I would apply the brake the current would go through the other filament causing my guages and parking lights to come one. Just something to check for. Goodluck.
