Towing a 240sx with a tow dolly???

I have a track event coming up next weekend and its about a 4 hour drive. I really don't want to drive the car up there and then have something break and be stranded 275 miles away from home. I have a full size chevy truck with a V6 and I have access to a free tow dolly. I have pulled with it plenty of times before but never a long distance. Now I have heard that in some cars, it can be harmfull to the tranny to tow them like this. I am just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this. Has anyone out there done this long distance? WHat would cause damage? I mean, if you are driving, all of the parts inside your tranny are moving around, and if your towing, only the output shaft would be spinning correct? And that should be less heat/friction right? TIA.
