![]() Has anyone in here removed their head from the block? I have been having alot of trouble loosening the head studs on my s13 blacktop. The torque on those bolts is ridiculous. I used a long toque bar and only have managed to twist an extension. Someone also told me not to use an impact because will strip them. Can anyone please help me out on this. Whats the easiest way to this stupid head off? Also is there any chance i will be able to reuse the head studs?

They are very difficult to get off. You just have to gorilla them. I would agree on not using air tools. Get a big breaker bar with a pipe to give you more leverage.
You can reuse them once (maybe twice?) but you must measure them for stretch first and make sure they are within spec. I would get ARP instead though good luck! |
