smoke/fog coming out of the vents

with air on or not, just started today i try to turn on heat and it fogs up my windows horribly and at night i turn on the dome light and see a fog, or something floating around and no coolant is leaking, so any ideas of what to look for would be great

my friend has that problem on his z32.. turns out both cats are rotted on the bottom.. so the exhaust is coming up through engine bay, trans tunnel, under car... etc.
