custom exhaust options

so....here is my dilema.

I am in the market for an exhaust to finish up my upgrades. I will be using a pretty much stock KA (have a drop in K&N filter...thats gonna be the extent of my upgrades in the engine dept) All application specific exhausts have piping too large for a NA KA motor. So I am thinking of piecing together my system

Turns out a muffler shop here does BOMB ASS piping work. All I need is the can for them to work with.

There are 2 things I am looking for in this system.
1) Sound - Ever sneezed or coughed with your tongue halfway out of your mouth??? Im not looking for that sound. I am looking for summin not raspy or splatty
2) Shape - From what everyone says, the oval cans help with the noise. If I choose to go N1 style (round) ...what is a good can.

When I figure out what can I wanna run, ill need to figure out piping. Will 2.25 be good enough or go up in size?
