power antenna

im not to sure about whats wrong with it. the antenna doesnt raise itself up nor does it lower itself. when the car is turned on or off, it just makes this noise. i can pull the whole thing out however. but its bent now cuz someone decided it was funny to bend my antenna or somethin? but before that i had a little reception, now its gone. to remove it, i would have to get pliers or somethin and get it out of the rubber from the driver side panel, right? i've never done this before. i was told in order to remove it, i would have to do it from inside the trunk but theres that metal piece blockin it. is there any replacement for havin a power antenna? so i wouldnt need a antenna for it? i wouldnt want another bent antenna, if i'd have to replace it.

Im not sure how to remove the whole system, but to just remove the tip, all you have to do is get a flathead and a hammer, and where the grooves are on the black thing i think it has two. Take the flathead and stick it in there then tap it with the hammer. My antenae is broken, but for some reason im still catching reception...im thinking about putting a "S2000" style antenae on there so water wont get in.

It's fairly easy to replace the antenna with a non-power one. I could not find an aftermarket antenna with the plug that mine had in it, so I found one from a car being parted out.

I believe there are only two bolts holding the motor of the antenna in. Just unscrew the top of the antenna, remove those bolts and it slides out.
