ka 5spd tranmissions?

ok i know all 240 tannies will work with each other, but is there any other nissan transmission that will bolt up to the 240sx ka and work, IE nissan harbody truck, they are like a dime a dozen at the local salvage yards and findin a 40 trans is like tryin to find a needle in a hay stack so i was curious if any other trans would work, or maybe likea hybrid, ka bell housing on a 300zx trans or somethin else that might work. thanx hope someone can help out!

AFAIK you'll at least need a 5 speed 240 bellhousing... SR trannies are the same as KA's, they just have different bellhousings. I imagine the hardbody would work as it's a KA and maybe something from a 200sx (which has the CA18ET and is RWD) otherwise I don't know...

Autos, yes. But with a different bellhousing. Manual, not even close.

280/260 zx
Nissan Pickups
Are exactly the same (bellhousings and internals)
Older tranny does not use an extra sensor (neutral sensor I think)

Dunno what years in specific
I am using right now a nissan truck manual tranny (I think that is 87 or 88)
I can dig up a pic with the two trannys side by side.
I didnt note any difference in lenght (or weight!)
One thing though, the current one DOES NOT have one sensor and does not provide a boss so you can install it. My reverse and 4th and 5th gear sensors are present (disconnected) and work just fine.
