So at some point in my cars life a battery exploded and ate the entire corner where the battery tray is. And now I need to fix it, maybe box it out, move the battery to the trunk, and have ample room to drop my intercooler pipe through. Here are some pics of the top and bottom, any suggestions?

if you relocate your battery I would cut out the rusted area and weld in some new metal and paint it so it doesn't rust again

this is what I would like to do since my is rusted out too

mine wasnt as bad, but pretty rusted as well.
i cut my tray out and most of the metal under it came with.i ended up trimming everything up and spraying some rust encapsulator on it. But now i guess i should have someone weld a new piece on it.
