Hey, where u livin'? I'm in toronto, about to move to thunder bay (long story). Forget importing an s-15, way too much. Just figure out which chassis u like better 13 or 14 and build from there. U get almost the same car for considerably less (if u don't go with the s-15 SR)
What's with the weather lately?!?!? |

According to the Transport Canada website, the only way to import a vehicle not sold in Canada or the US, is if it has a statement of compliance (safety) label affixed by the original manufacturer. Good luck getting Nissan to do that for you.

Hmmm not sure. The cost of bringing in an entire salvage title vehicle would be high. You'd be paying freight charges on scrap metal. That's why people bring in clips and pieces.

This isn't true, your friend is wrong. Nissan has stopped making Silvias. |

There are 4 guys who have engine shops here in montreal. And there have been about 5 s15's that have come through the city, but I don't think any of them were sold to local guys. But they exist, seems to me they actually went for less than what americans are paying, around 7g's canadian or 4500 american.
As for importing the whole car, they are 100% illegal, you can't get it licenced unless it is a show ONLY car, cause they are not a DOT approved engine, plus the s15 frame is not even known in canada... it is hard enough to import an Rx7 from the states... we have to change the bumpers to do it. Ther eis a shop I go to who could prolly get one, he has brought over 3 right hand civics, and has a jdm vr4 mitsu 300gt that I have been in twice (not driving) but they are illegal and cannot be licenced for regular use. Only show. So I wouldn't even bother. |

I know that there are two shops in Toronto, one of them is called lucky star or something like that, and I forget the name of the other one. I know that sspikey has the website, at least I think he does. Lucky star are the guys who built two montreal silvia s14s.

usually if there is a shop that does import engine swaps, then the mechanic there should be knowledgeable enough to do other swaps.
we have a shop in Calgary called Tunerworks and the mechanic there does a lot of swaps and is well-rounded in his knowledge of it. my suggestion is you call up those honda shops anyways, you never know. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
