i found a really good deal on a 240...but the problem is this is the base model. i think the base model doesnt have LSD, but can i buy LSD and transplant it on the car? if so how much? Thanks everyone out there.

well ur hard pressed to find the lsd even on se models..... so dont be worried..... u can transplant it but i have NO experience with that soooo yah ....?

ABS and LSD are a combination package, I think. Another way to check is to lay some rubber and see if their are one or two black marks. Another way is to jack up the rear end and spin one wheel. If the other spins in the opposite direction, you have an open diff.

You can get the 300ZX LSD and output flanges for an average of $300 from most junkyards

I believe it's 1990 and above. http://www.240sx.org/faq/articles has a superb article on the LSD swap. Look in the article listings for Paul's LSD swap...he's got all the info on what year LSD's you can install and what other parts are needed.
