Los Angeles, Help me out here.

Ok. I think I found my future s13. Here's the scoop. I live in Hanford. About 3 hours out of LA. I found a guy, and he said the only problem with the car is the head gasket. Normally, I would replace that myself, but I don't want to sit in the dude's driveway tearing shit apart. So here is what I need your help with. I don't know the guy personally, so I'm not gonna take his word on the situation.

Please call around to a couple shops, and get a quote on replacing the gasket. I'm gonna be driving down Friday to look at the vehicle, and if it looks good, I'm gonna give him the money to fix it, and get papers to proove that it was done. Then the following weekend, I will be heading down there to pick it up, and drive it back. So it has to be running. (KA24DE)

Secondly, the passenger seat is broken. So if anyone in the area down there has a passenger seat and rails (don't know the condition of the rails so may as well get them too) for a cheap price that I can pick up that would be great. The dash is the only pic in the car, and it is black, but I will confirm the intirior color and fabric when I talk to him again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Will give rep (if you all care about that crap.)

Thanks in advance, and wish me luck.

wtf 1,500! Where were you 6 months ago! but anyways, what kind of insurance do you have? You can have it towed to your house if you have towing. If not get an estimate on towing, it could be cheaper than having a mechanic fix the gasket for you. You never know. That's what i did when i got mine.. blown head gasket too, (even though the seller said it was only the MAFS) Triple A hooked me up all the way to my house, free. You would be saving alot of money and time, and you can have a 3 hour conversation with the tower ^ ^ good luck man!

Got any pics? Might be interested.

The thing is though, I have been looking for a while, and this one just caught my attention in the worst way. I can't pull the engine for you, because I live 3 hours away. So any price check and time it would take for a mechanic to do the job would really be a big help. If your s13 catches my attention, I will take you up on that deal. Just hit me with some pics. The bad thing is, I'm in the navy, so a lot of image hosting sights don't work. If you can use imageshack, that will work. photobucket is blocked here until I can get home.

So let me know what all is done to it, and some pics, and you may have a deal.

My incurance cover's my car if it breaks down, only 150 miles a year I think... and LA is a bit farther then that. Thanks for the Idea though.

well lets say it does cover 150 miles. and lets say LA is 175 miles away. Then you just pay the 25 miles off. It isnt too expensive, i know that much. I'm sure it still would be cheaper than having a tech fix your car. And you wouldn't have to come back over the weekend to pick it up again saving gas ^ ^

True. I just rather drive it though. Plus I need to put miles on my lude. I just put in a stage 2 clutch and 12lb flywheel, so breaking it in. I love driving anyways, so not really a big deal to me. Gets me away from the shithole I'm in now. Also, I would need to raise the car to keep it from fucking up the body. It sits low.
