Okay, this is the cheapest and easiest way for those of you who have a stuck egr tube on your exhaust manifold that you've been meaning to block off.

Level of difficulty: **

Tools needed:
-mallet or hammer
-3/8 extension (or something with a blunt end that you can beat on)
-screwdriver
-2 pennies

Here's what I used..

Okay, so first thing since you've failed at removing the bolt (if you got it out stick a nickel in there and put it back in) the next thing you want to do is take your hammer or mallet and tap on the tube near the base to get it out. Shouldn't take much.

See how its bent? A lil more and it'll pop off.

Dont worry about jagged edges but be careful not to cut yourself..

Anyway.. next thing you wanna do is center the penny over the hole with one hand(this is a little tricky) then, while still holding the penny, center your extension(or whatever blunt tipped object you choose to use) onto the penny. Apply enough force so that it keeps the penny in place. Now you've got a free hand. Use it to grab your mallet (or hammer) and give it a good tap(wear safety glasses). Basically you're making a welsh plug.

Should look like this

Finish tapping it in, keep it straight with the screwdriver if needed.

Get out your other penny and repeat so you get a good seal.
