Can bad injectors cause oil burning?

Motor: ka24de w/ 170k miles, 175psi compression on all 4 cylinders

I've had occasional oil burning before one of my injectors went out and I replaced it with an old one. Ran fine but oil burning continued, but occasionally. So i'm thinking the oil rings so i switched to heavier oil and the additives, dunno if it helped or not, still occasional oil burning, but getting worse. Burning was more apparent during the middle of the day as opposed to mornings when it's colder. So yesterday, the car starts running on 3 cylinders and im assuming once again, one of my injectors went out. Don't think it's the valve seals cuz it doesn't do anything in the mornings, but it does spit out blue smoke when idling when takin off, but thats occasional as well..... what u'll think?? can injectors be causing this? A mechanic told me that once when my injectors went out for the first time.....
