replacement rod end for KTS outer tie rods?

A week ago my car was fine now I can't go over 55mph because the front end will shake so bad. I figured I lost a wheel weight so I lifted it up and to my suprise it was my KTS tie rod ends that are dead! Less than a year old too!

A friend called Phase2 for me (where they came from) and was told that if I try to have them replaced by KTS most likely KTS will loose them and I will never get replacements.

I'm feeling pretty fucking by this whole deal, but I'm thinking that if I can maybe find just the rod ends I will be able to replace them and keep the sleeves. So if anyone knows a source for replacement ends, that would be great.

Go look at the ebay tc rod broken thread from a week or two ago. That guy bought the same rod end and I brought up a lot of concerns, so all this stuff has been covered.

There are "automotive" rod ends available from the aftermarket. How do you think companies like SPL get them? Manufacture them in house? hahahaha

Did you even look at that thread. Look at the pitch and thread of the bolt and try and find a high quality rod end for it. 14x2 isn't one that's very easy to find for an automotive application. If you look at SPL's stuff they use a standard thread which can be found just about everywhere in every range of quality. The cheap metric metric rod end you're replacing is a lot harder to find.

Never heard of KTS rod ends, do you mean SPL? If so, its the first time I heard of such issue from them. Also I know Kuah will fix your situation in a timely manner.

KTS != SPL

call Kuah @ SPL. He has access to QA-1 3-piece rod ends in metric and standard. BattleVersion uses Aurora, IIRC

In conclusion, KTS and Kazama outters are trash.

Johnny5's broke and I think he got Mid Atlantic to build him new ones with new buckles and ball joints.

I don't know if Kuah could help you with QA1s... I don't think he gets anything other than what he needs.

Actually, he said in the other rod-end thread that he can. You can even get them on the rods they sells now for a $20 extra subsidized price. Just ask

We only have the M16 rod ends to fit our RUCAs, toe arms, traction rods. And of course we are only subsidizing the cost if those items are purchased from us. I do not have access to any 2-piece teflon-lined M14 rod ends, this type of end is not available from QA1.
