oil gurus please!
i've been reading forum after forum and thread after thread about oil
and i've come to the conclusion that i should either run 10w40 or 15w50 in the summer heat for my RB. i cant seem to decide which to run since i plan on stocking up for the spring/summer/fall heat. when i go to the track this summer i will run the thicker 15w50 unless you guys think it's a bad idea. but is 10w40 sufficient for daily driven or should i go with the 15w50? im stumped, help please... thanks henry |

in LA, i just use 20w50. the heat range is perfect
run the less viscous on the track and more viscous on the street. I have a feeling i'm gonna get corrected

After working at Valvoline for a couple of months I see no reason the thiker oils are even offered. except under the most extreme conditions...of which you do not apply.

Yeah you really dont need to run the Thicker oil, especially in a turbo app like yours. 10-30 would work fine even a step up would be fine. Nissan only recommends 10w30 thats all we use at the dealerships granted we dont have the rb's to work on lol but even the z's TT where only 10w Even in cali weather
