When I make a hard left turn i get a rattling sound...the other day I was driving down a slightly sandy road, took a bend too fast and spun 180° and landed about 2 feet from a chain fence....when i drove off, the engine was rattling, well, it sounded like it might be coming from under the gear select...not too noticable when the hood is up but very noticable in the car...i can feel it in my butt, and in the console....when i rev the engine past 5k rpm, it sounds like a metal on metal grinding sound. it goes away after awhile, but i'm worried...anyone know what this could be caused by?
usually this happens when i make a hard left, my car seems to loose a little power, and grind for a while, it'll go away if i drive it for 20-30 minutes, but after i spun out, it happens whenever i rev over 5k rpm thanks for reading my ramble..matt |

damn d00d! that doesn't sound like fun.
i'm going to GUESS at what may be wrong but just take it as speculation <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]() 1.) could be a wheel bearing on your left side that got messed up 2.) your timing chain is probably what is causing that grinding sound. did you bottom out anywhere during that turn? sheesH! sounds like a lot of damage. i've never had anything like that happen to me as a result of drifting. gl dood! |

Matt,
If there was a lot of shaking while that all was going on (with you spinning out and whatnot), yes, one of your timing chain assembly parts could have gotten loose. I'm gonna take a wild guess and point at both the wheel bearing and the control arm for the turning problem. Good luck with everything. |

hey thanks for the replies
i slid into a curb a few months ago (it was raining, not my fault) and hit the curb at 30mph, so i guess it's possible it's the berrings, i've been told my control arm is bent from several people... sigh, i guess i'll have to take it to a shop and have them look at it... thanks for your help, matt |

i disagree, i hit an oily spot on an on ramp to the interstate, while it was raining, going at a normal safe speed, my car lost control, it's physic's fault, or the idiot who didn't get his oil fixedd in his car
