I was down in LA for the D1 Round 1 point series competition in LA this past weekend. Kazama took first again in his S15.

I took some video clips from the grandstands with my digital camera of the final rounds.

Each video file is about 20MB... right click and save.

Cool vids.... Looks fun! To be honest, I'm getting tired of Irwindale. ITs just not a very interesting track to watch at. It favors the higher power cars like no ones buisness..... +1 rep for you for cool vids!

in practice the Droo-P corolla and Ueo did the full bank. Hi horsepower my ass, only the s2k couldn't not do the entire bank. I had the best seat in the house. Starter stand.......

I think one of the coolest things was seeing Rod Millen out driving at this event. He's been tuning and building fast cars and rally racing for a long time. He didn't do very well but just his presence there in the RX-8 going at it was a real sign that drifting has become a big thing in the US and people are taking it seriously.

Aaron!! You sumumabitch, that was you?! So I guess I did "see" you there. hah.

But to second your comment, I saw at least 3 corollas that were taking care of business on the big bank, including yoshioka's NA coupe. If anything that track almost favors the small/mid-size cars for being nimbler. I said nimble, haha. Anyway, I still had fun. Although, I was hoping more US drivers would've made it to the top 16. Rod Millen was killin' it and got no love!
