Scariest day of my life

So the scariest thing happened to me yesterday. I have 2 sons and my youngest is about to turn 3 in a couple weeks. I'm going to be gone for work purposes when his birthday rolls around so my wife and I decided to go to Disneyland with acouple family members for his birthday yesterday. It was pretty miserable because it was so damn packed but my kids were having fun and thats all that mattered to me. Well, later in the evening, it was already dark and a crowd was starting to gather where we were at for one of the parades. It got so busy that my oldest son (still only 4) disappeared in a crowd of people. We immediately started panicking. We searched for a good 15 minutes with still no luck. Finally we reported to an employee there and they got on their little radio to see if anyone found him. THANK GOD someone did. I guess some lady found him by himself playing with a sticker or something and decided to take him to lost and found. We got there and we was just playing calmly with his sticker like nothing had happened. When I asked him if he was scared, he just looked at me like I was crazy and answered simply "no". Well, lesson learned. I think from now on I'm gonna put tracking devices on my kids. Maybe that'll keep a bad parent like me in check.

...OK...you can flame on about how bad of a father I am now...

That happened to my little brother at disney world when he was about 6. It screwed him up big time. For the next 6 or 7 years he was scared to be alone ort be in a room by himself with the doors shut...seriously. That was over 12 years ago though...

gps kid tracking!

i got lost in universal when i was a kid. well more like the fuckheads running the attraction forgot there were people inside and shut it down. so me and like 10 other kids just wondered out and someone took us to lost and found.

Yea, this is very good news to hear from a bad situation. Сouldn't flame you about something that happens so often. Especially in such a big place like DisneyLand. I find it hard myself to keep track of all my friends when we occasionally go there. And it is 10 times worse losing one of your children at that young of an age. Once again, good stuff everything is okay.

Well I let them wear tracking devices on their bracelets...so if ever they get lost...I'd love to put those harness and cords but I might get reported for treating them like animals. Thank God you found your kid...it's a freaking scary thing...and yes...scariest day...w00t glad he's back..

Thanks for going easy on me. And no i wouldn't ask what is needed for a z32 brake swap. I'm doing that swap now and unlike so many zilvians, I actually SEARCHED first.

Thanks again for the support.

I think most parents have moments like this.

When I was a kid I wandered off in an open air market in Central America. My mom found me after about 1/2 hour by a shop and was visibly shaken. I was chilling but that didn't last long... i got my ass whopped when we got home.

My sister used to wander off all the time, we had to assign someone to watch her at all times when we went anywhere.
Runs in the family I guess...

Glad everything turned out well for you and your family.

I'm glad everything worked out okay.

I'll never forget when I was way younger my mother let a friend and I go our by ourselves into the mall for the very first time. Somehow we got our times mixed up when to meet back together and we showed up about an hour late. She was crying and this and that, and apparently mall security had been searching for us for a good half an hour lol. I guess as a kid I just liked to keep my parents on their toes

seem like lots of parent encounter this sooner or later.

When i have a kid.. gps with electric stun mode.. just in case i cant find that little one.. i'll sure hear him/her when she yelling. and that teaches him or her not to take off . haha + ass whooping at home. Why dont parents beat their kids these days. It taught many people I know a lesson.

Disneyland is just insane. That place is too crowded to even have fun, no way in hell I'd take a kid there younger than 10 and without a cell phone.

Just happy you found him...I have a 6yr. old and don't know what I would do if anything happened to him....for what its worth when if was younger (6/7) I got lost in disney world(orlando) for over an hour...I was so scared that i squeezed in between one of the iron gates that surround trees and wouldn't move...was eventually seen by one of the babershop quartets who then got me to my mom who was very shaken

Just one more reason why i dont need to have kids.
I rememeber getting lost when I was little at the Florida State Fair, WAYYYYY more frickin shady then DisneyLand. I was 8 so not that young. But I just rememember thinking "fuck, I'm gonna be in trouble". ofcourse I diddnt say fuck but I cant remember what the little kid equivalent of it would be for me

Mainlybecause, if you spank your kid these days and they go to school and mention it to their teachers or the school counselor, they will come after you for child abuse. Its a fact, political correctness gone overboard. My sister never spanked her kids and my niece has her wrapped around her little finger. She gets away with hell, because she knows time out is the worst thing that is coming.
