HIDs into Silvia Dual Square 'Bricks'

Does anyone know .......

a.) What fitment buld I need? H4?
b.) Do I need hi/lo or normal? I think my full beams are on the inside of the two squares
c.) Any other issues with fitting them?
d.) Anyone retro-fitted projectors into dual squares?

Not sure if my setup is different as my car is a JDM import but my outside light is the normal beam and the inside light is full/high beam. Is that how it is on US models?

The H4 is your High/Low.

The H3c has been disputed as either a fog light, or a supplemental high beam, meaning when you click on your high beams, all four lights should be on.

But bottom line, DON"T put HIDs in bricks. They were NEVER designed to have HIDs in them.
Swapping proper projectors into them would be better for light output, but it would look horribly goofy.
If you want to do a HID projector swap, then start with a set of dual or triple projector lamps.

Bricks are not good with HID's I didn't know that?

What the reason for that? Have you heard of any bad experiences?

I would really like to know because I'm planning on buying hid's for my bricks & I would like to know what's the bad about them before I do or don't buy em...

Bricks are pretty impossible to modify. Clearcorners.com would have done it already if it was possible seeing as he has modded all the other Silvia headlamps. Including my S15's.

The lighting patterns of the bricks in stock form is piss poor at best. Adding HIDs just adds brighter scattered light. You are not getting lights that are any better, just spread out more.

Evidently you have not been doing your research, as the poor lighting provided by these headlights has been discussed NUMEROUS times.

They are the best looking of the S13 Silvia headlights, but they provide the worst lighting.

Meh, I don't care a great deal about scattered beam. I'd rather have bright scattered beam than dull scattered beam.

I wondered how bad projectors set at the back of the dual squares would look.

You do?

Joking aside, I do about 2000 road miles a year in the S13, mostly on the way to or from tracks, I won't be wiping out MUCH of the population with my headlamp-blinding actions.

9s13Coupe3SX - we are the democratic poster-children of the world - our problem is we care TOO MUCH about everyone else. I'm addressing the balance, one mis-directed HID bulb at a time.

So, if it's barely on the road, why even bother with the HIDs?

I'll just take the lights out completely then I guess.

OR because the HIDs would be better for late-drift events and also, they look kinda cool.

Annnywaaaay, does anyone know if the HID 'bulb' bits fit inside the lamps OK? I've read somewhere about the reflector thingy getting in the way.

Have you ever get blind from the huge truck or SUV from behind?

Now is the time to do something XD

HID in Brick has been covered before, the light pattern isn't good but not bad compare to any non-HID housing w/ HID installed.

Considering no one has posted any information in this thread, that you couldn't have originally found for yourself with a bit of work, this thread never should have existed.

If you can't handle the criticism, then don't post your ideas.
