fender pulling

i just have a question i was reading a magazine(super street) and they had this artical on ways to pull a fender so that your tire dont rub. One of the ways was to take a baseball bat and stick it under the wheel well and use the tire as leverage to bend the fender i know it is the ghetto version to pull a fender but i was just wondering if anyone has seen this or has done it them selves and if so did u heat ur paint so that it wouldn't crack when u were pulling the fender?

i know that this question might seem stupid to some people but i was just curious if what they were saying in the magazine was liget or not.

Old news. Most people on here with pulled fenders have used the basball bat + heat gun trick.

Heat gun really helps. You don't have to pull as hard, and the paint doesn't crack as easy. I used a pipe.

i used a propane torch with a mallet. heat up the metal so it bends easier.. then just hit it flat. don't use the torch if you have a nice paint job..

A) If your tires stick that far out you need a pull.

B) You can jack your car up a little to make more space so you can use whatever to roll it.

I used a Pickle Fork, Jack Handle and MAP Gas torch to roll mine. I'll be getting a fender roller and doing them legit tommorow do I can pull some camber.

Best way to do it is to use a rubber mallet and a heat gun. That's how I started out.. But then I got a roller. Rubber mallet is still a lot easier. But not too many people like you beatin down their fender with a hammer. Just looks too easy.. haha

cool thanks i wasnt aware that this topic was covered before and i searched so sorry about that.looks like ill be useing the heatgun rubber mallet method now just to get my rims and tires.

These were pulled using a combination of pipe, rubber mallet, vise grips, and a hammer and dolly set for metal working. Still kinda rough in some spots but it got the job done.

I'm replacing the front fenders soon and I need to make some more clearance for the 18x10's going in the rear, so I'll try to be a little neater the next time.

I used a heat gun and a rubber mallet on my s14. It was black so it shows everything but there was no wrinkling or cracking at all and I had to pull it enough to fit 255's on 18x10 +20.
