basically wtf random mangled transmission piece?

errrrrrr.... what?

I was going to replace the seal on the (input shaft?). pulled the driveshaft out and what comes with it? this. basically I just acted like it never happened, nip/tuck style and installed the new seal. leaks a little bit. I'm sure its not good tho.

also, check the random gouge on the shaft. lol wtf!?

I do'nt recognize this part, did it come off with the drive shaft? What was it bolted to? Is it splined on the inside of the shaft in the photo?
It's been rubbing for a while!! I will check my factory service manual when I get to work Tuesday and see what it shows.
Is your car running now?

that deffinitely didnt come from inside, ive never seen any well lubricated precision parts (IE engine, transmission) with something that silly looking inside of it.

thats the thing...

please dont flame. I basically had no idea what I was doing with this swap. I was going to pay someone to swap it for me, and he bailed half way thru and I had to hit the ground running with the swap. apparently my motorset did NOT come with a rear seal so I had to have been running dry for maybe 500 miles or more. back when I was swapping it, I didnt know any better to notice or not.

what happened was I got a driveshaft off of a friend of mine who was parting out his car. took that one out, those 2 things came with it. I dont even know what they are lol. car runs fine without them tho lol.

Sorry this is so late, but if your still intrested, I checked my F.S.M. and the best I can tell, I think your ''extra pieces'' ar the dust cover, it goes on after the rear seal, did you have one?(dust cover) to put back on? My guess is no, let me know
