SR Heatshield removal

OK folks, this manifold heatshield has me frustrated like a midget trying to use a urinal. How in the world do I remove this heatshield? Besides the intercooler piping, what else needs to be removed to get this sucker out? I've searched the Zilvia threads 9 or 10 times and have ran across nothing to lead me to the path of simple removal.
I'm trying to get to my turbo just to inspect it for possible rebuild.
The engine is a stock SR20DET red top w/SMIC.
I'm really expecting this to be something so simple that my 3 year old cousin could point it out , so tear me up.
Thanks

3 10mm bolts right on top of the exhaust manifold. You may want to soak it overnight with PB Blaster. And use a 6-point socket with a breaker bar so you don't round off the bolts.

yea and pull like a bitch. The dip stick kinda gets in the way. Its in there pretty good but you can just pull hard and it will come out. Theres no hidden bolts or anything.

Just unbolt it and slowly work it out. You don't have to unbolt the dipstick tube, but you can if you want the extra clearance.

SR

The bolts attaching it are not the issue. The issue is created by a small, black, rectangular resevoir that is bolted onto the head just above the turbo towards the firewall. Maybe its emissions equipment? It has breather hose that runs to the bottom of it then another hose that runs from the top left of it to the valve cover breather "T".
The only reason that I did not take it off was that simply getting to the 3rd bolt for the resevoir is a lesson in extreme patience requiring hands the size of tinkerbell.
So, after tinkerbell removed the 3rd bolt for me, thats when I realized there was a breather hose running to the bottom of the resevoir. I stopped at this point; if I had trouble with the bolt, I sure as hell was'nt gonna get that hose reattached anytime soon and I was already bleeding pretty good.
Blood, sweat, and beers for working on cars; mud, sweat, and gears for dirt bikes.

That's your air/oil separator. You can just unbolt it and remove the hoses for clearance. That 3rd bolt in the back in hard to get to, but if you have some manual dexterity in you it will come off.

When you reinstall the can I would suggest leaving that 3rd bolt off for easy removal in the future.
