Ctune racing RUCAS, grease or not to grease that is the question

My rucas are clunking like nuts. I was told to put grease at the nipple. And that will help grease the ball joint. Thats what he did to solve his clunking problem.

I was told by an instructor for suspension class that you arent suppose to GREASE teflon ball joints. because they are self lubricating. My friend's kazama outter tie rod(end) broke cuz some dumass "helped" him grease it.

I am lost. Help?

Grease or not to grease?

*if you are going to say that CTUNE is crap, do it on the review forums, please!*

You'll most likely never find the correct zerk fitting to grease those. If you do, post up.

Anyhow, those aren't teflon joints, so just spray them down with WD40 until you can afford to replace the rod ends with some real teflon ones.

1) those aren't teflon-coated. they're zerk fittings, which means you HAVE to grease those
2) zerk fittings are crap and are dangerous; they don't belong anywhere near automotive suspension parts.

you should look for replacement rod-ends that are actually teflon-coated.

If they didn't want you to grease them up, Crap-Tune wouldn't have a zirc fitting on there.. cause those things cost money. But yes, grease them up prior to install, and like the old days when you change your oil, you'd get a "lube" job with it.

To save time and even more headaches, just switch to SPL Rucas. http://www.splparts.com/Parts/S13/Su...rMultilink.asp In fact, just switch to SPL everything if you could .

Yeah, those are crap. Mine blew out after less than year.

First they start squeaking. So you lube them.
Then squeak more often. More lube.
Start sticking. Thicker lube.
Then they bind up and blow an end cap out.

Up to you to decide; they're both good.

but you can get 3-piece QA-1 rod ends from SPL if you ask
