dumb ? adjusting height on megan coilovers

i am trying to raise the rear of my car about an inch but cant figure out how to raise the car. i assumed loosening the locking rings and dropping them about an inch on the shaft would raise the car an inch, but such is not the case. i know this is stupid and i should be able to figure it out, so i apologize in advance.
thanks guys

It's not that simple. Do you still have the 2 crescent wrenches that came with the kit?

I'm having some problems adjusting the riding height on the MR coils myself. I read the instruction manual and tried doing what it said. So i loosened the bottom lock nut but i can't turn the shock assembly to lower the height...it won't budge. I didn't loosen the top 2 lock nuts cuz it would affect the preload. So what am i doing wrong here?

try spraying some lube, wd40, and get someone stronger. this is why i like to keep the threades free of debris with a brush everytime i get a chance to.

I just dropped the shizzle out of my S13 this weekend with my MR coilovers. My shocks were also reluctant to move, so I just used the spanner wrench on the lower spring perch (not spring perch locking ring) and turned the shock with the wrench and my free hand. I then eyeballed/measured with my fingers the distance between the collars from side to side. That got me pretty darn close, so I'm satisfied.
