Exclamation Koni Yellows Weak?? Help!!

Koni Yellows Weak?? Help!!

Hello all, I just installed the "KONI YELLOWS" Struts on my 180SX.
Aren't the these suppose to be REALLY REALLY STIFF?
Somehow they are not... I set them to the maximum STIFF-NESS...
When I drive... the drive is not hard.

So my question is... are the "KONI YELLOWS" really STIFF?
What is it equivalent to?

Help!!

hopefully you got the right ones

anyway, they theoretically have an infinite adjustability range.
what springs do you have them on? they are just dampers, man. THE BEST, but still dampers.

Did you install the inserts correctly?

Perhaps you're just experiencing the uber goodness that is the Koni shocks?

I remember reading when guys were complaining about how they don't feel the pot holes or bumps with their Apexi N1 Pro 2001 model, and they thought the whole set was busted, until someone chimed in and said that it's just cause it's damping is so f-ing awesome, that it soaks up bumps and pot holes like jello, and that while cornering at the track, the car still stays flat.

I don't believe stiffness is always more desirable. There are diminishing gains at some point, and you're also limited by the chassis itself.

Besides, what are you talking about? stiff dampers? stiff springs? stiff chassis? stiff bars?

If stiffness were all that matters, then why do shopping carts handle like shit?

Shopping carts drift awesome.

For grip, load all your shit on the back of the cart, and the car will turn well.

For drift, have your gf stand on the front of the cart's frame (just in front of the front wheels) and you'll drift the cart nicely.

more like they need a setup that allows them some travel so they can actually fucking turn instead of understeer.
anyway, i don't know why we're arguing about shopping carts. hahaha

Spring constants should be chosen based on how much load will be put on them and how much travel you want them to undergo in order to produce desirable effects that lead to the steering characteristics you want.

if you want stiffer shit, get stiffer springs, but don't hate on koni yellows.

We're not arguing.. we're joking.

To the post starter: did you buy Koni's because you wanted a rough ride?

If yes: you're dumb
If no: then be quiet because the shocks are fine.

in any case scenario, you'd want the tallest stiffest lowering springs out there available. too low of a spring and your konis or whatever brand name shocks become useless since you'd lose variable compression and overall shock travel.
