Arrow Power window question...

Its a 95 240sx s14

So recently my driver side window got stuck in the lowered position and i cant close it nomater what.

My passenger side one works fine but teh driver side just wont move.

Wen i flip teh switch i can hear the power window amplifier make a clicking noise but but thats it.
It use to make that noise before i think too when it was fine.

Lately i had to flip the switch on and off couple of times before i could get it to go up. Like flip once flip twice wait flip again and it would go up.

But now it wont go up nomater what.

Any ideas??

it may be your motor

but the first thing you should check are your fuses. This happened to me, all i did was yank the fuses and pop them back in... and it worked again

it seems impossible to replace cuz its inside the door and u cant take teh door apart(im not talkin bout the cover).

so is there any way to make sure its the motor and not the power window amplifier and which fuses do i check... if its makin a clicking noise then it fuses prolly fine right?

is there a way to check the motor?

should i change it myself or have somebody else do it? and if myself where would i get a motor?

-thx-

I had this same situation in my S13, except my window was stuck up. When I pushed the switch all I got was the click of the amplifier. So I read on one of these posts that it was the amplifier, so I replaced mine, and now it all works great. So you might want to try that, and if it doesnt work just return it. The part # for an S13 is 28515-40F00.
Talk to Jason over at Performance Nissan, he'll hook it up for all Zilvia members, try to find him on here. Goodluck with it!

It isnt the motor. I had the same problem on my 95 and i replaced the motor 2 times which costed me about 400 in labor and parts. When i took it apart myself i cracked open the power relay/amplifier and saw that one of the solder points were cracked. I re-soldered it all and it was fixxed. I did a write up somewhere to let people know. Good luck. Dont waste your money before check out that relay. Have someone with expirence check it out, if you dont have that much with circuit boards. It is a VERY EASY fix.

It's not always the amplifier. I've seen equal numbers of bad motors as well. Generally the amplifier will burn up first but that's not always the case, and in most cases the motor receives some heat damage anyway so it's lifespan is limited afterwards. On a 96-98 where the amp is internal it's gauranteed to be the motor since the updated switch assembly rarely goes bad.
As far as replacing it, taking the motor out is a 5minute job with only a 10mm socket. Read the FSM, or better yet use common sense and look at it. To test the motor, hook a 12V battery to it.

thx for all ur replies i rely apreciate it!
i took apart teh amplifier and the clicking noises are coming from the solenoids(elctrical magnets) they attract a metal piece that i guess completes the circuit and lest the window move.
I looked around and there seems to be no damage to it, it looks clean, no burned parts or anything.
So i dont know i think its the motor.
I saw that there is two wires coming out of teh door, towards the front and im pretty sure they are the motor wires. I hooked one up to the battery and the other one to the door(ground) but no sound no movement no anything.

R240NA can u tell me which bolt it is(95) or where to read about it, whats FSM?
sry if its noob question
