I am about to put 18" rims on my car by the end of this week my friend asked me, how much of a difference in speed will my speedometer be off, does anyone know if it will be a big difference or a little

the rims should not affect your speedo at all. Plus sizing means smaller sidewall to complensate for larger rims, it also reduces sidewall roll while cornering.
18" rims will do exactly what Meowth just said, make u slow. Woo Hoo... what's that tell you about all those Civic DX's with ugly arse 20" Focals? |

Well, it may very slightly affect the speedometer. Sometimes you can't perfectly match the total diameter, so your speedo may be off by about 2 miles per hour at 60mph. Nothing you really need to worry about, but it's fairly easy to have the speedo recalibrated if I'm not mistaken.
