What is the largest turbo that is a direct bolt on for a s14 sr20det or basically a direct bolt on affair with maybe a few mods? I have searched around but havent found a "largest turbo" yet, the biggest i know of the is gt2871, thanks all

unfortunatly there is a LOT more to your question than that.

You cant just throw a HUGE turbo on a motor and call it a day.

You will need air/fuel managment, larger injectors, bov, front mount intercooler, boost controller, eventually better head gasket... The list goes on and on..... I think DUY is running a t66 or even t88. Not even close to bein "bolt on" though.

I'm sure he's not looking for something that will require tons of fabrications, but rather a bolt on replacement for the t28, and did u even read his sig before throwing out your comment?

gt2871 is the biggest you can fit on the t25 flange. unless you get a custom turbo that comes with a t25 flange. but yeah i hope you know to upgrade the needs for the bigger turbo.

HKS has a GT3240 available with a T25 flange. Its good for 580PS

They also have a bunch more choices with T25 flanges.

gt2540 and the gt3071 and several other turbos are made much larger then gt2871r. The 2871 is just best suited to the t2 flange over the other selections. Bottom mount t2 flange and high hp goals dont really go together that well. The words direct bolt on dont apply to any of these really since things will need to be modified no matter what you switch to. Most of the things that will be done are kinda DIY and not such a big deal, just take time and some thinking/searching. Better way to say it is stock mount upgrade =)

they also make gt3071r and gt3076r with t25 flange. also, garett is not the only company that makes turbochargers. precision, greddy, hks, and other manufactueres should be looked at.

I've seen some write ups on Freshalloy where people have problems with the 3071 WG. Some people have even had creep issues with the 2871R.

As far as supporting mods. Besides Fuel and tuning. you'll need cams also.
