my car wont start - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

when  i turn the key all the idiot light go on and dim to almost nothing. clicking sounds from the consol. now when i jump start it and drive it the headlights dim whenever i hit the brakes or use any acessory. it my alternator fried or is it just the battery? ill let you know what it was tommorrow when i can check it out.

Have your battery recharged and then get it tested. If it checks out, it is most likely ur alternator.

Test alternator charge by:

- start car and let it run
- turn on all accessories
- disconnect battery cable

If your car dies, its the alternator. Your accessories run on alternator juice once the car is running

stupid black corosion on the termianls. cleaned them and started like usual

hey i got the car a month ago. it caught me totally off guard too. i had to take a leak so  i jumped out and went to the woods when i came back no go. my own stupidity i guess. im going to do a comeplete tune up when i get back from boot camp
