DE to E block differences

My 89 has the E single cam...I have a lead on a DE long block..this will require many other things to get going.... Can I take all of my new stuff off of my cracked E block and put them on a running DE blk and I mean everything. Head timming oil pump alt etc.

So you are asking if an E head will fit on a DE block?? It wont, neither will timing components, starter and most accessories. You are better off completing the DE engine and then swapping.

a long block includes the head, a short block is just the block and internals.

if it is a long block you will still need new manifolds, PS lines, and the other stuff breakindrifts mentioned.

if you are on a budget, an E short block is the way to go. if not, all the options are on the table.
