driveshafts???

How many of you have a one piece aluminum driveshaft, and did you feel any gain at all when you put it on?

I just got one put it on and didn't really feel a damn thing, so I wanted to see what everyone else says about it.

Like anything driveline related it allows to engine to rev quicker by reducing inertia, which in turn can free up more power, but by itself it's not actually increasing the power output. It's just getting to the peak a little faster.

^^^ What he said, and the fact that it will be lighter will produce less "loss" along the driveline, further supporting that it is not "creating more," just "taking less"

Unless you suck at being able to, "read" your car. Then chances are you won't notice a diff at all.

Alright asshole, you said yourself that you didn't notice a change, in fact your words were "didn't really feel a damn thing", so why even ask? Other people's experiences don't mean dick to you if you've already made up your mind anyway.

If you were expecting a huge difference... then you need to reconsider some things. Factory one is like 24lbs? and to rid some of the weight down to about 11lbs is pretty nice.

Sorry, but the answer you gave didn't help at all really, yes I felt a small diference but not really what I had expeced for $460 so I thought maybe someone here had a better expierence with it then I did. Wasn't looking for an education, just other peoples opinions.

on another note, did anyone else get a really loud vibration in the rear end at hi-rpms (6kish) after instal?

Well, for starters you paid $100 more than you should have, so that's strike one.

Secondly, if you were looking for personal experience, you should have worded your post better to elude to what you were looking for. By stating you saw no gain and were unimpressed you had already made your decision, what other people's input on the matter is no longer has any bearing since you've decided it for yourself.

Now since you've finally explained what you're looking for halfway through page one, people can now contribute.

On my own car I saw a noticeable increase in rev response, similiar to an aluminum flywheel, with redline being reached quicker through each gear. Because of this, the differential seemed more eager to break the wheels loose, resulting in a few mishaps the first few hours I drove it (in the rain even). There also was more immediate throttle response since the driveshaft was no longer having to torque up first (putting tension on the carrier bearing to reduce driveline slop) to put the power down to the wheels. Slight NVH was noticed at higher rpm, but nothing to be concerned with or bothered by.

I paid what phase2 charges, witch may have been to much, but oh well damage done. The vibration I was having was a result of install, I talked to the guys at phase2 they told me to uninstall it, rotate in 180 degrees and reinstall, after doing so the vibration has all but gone away, and now the car feels more to what I was expecting it would.

seems this is kind of normal so if you get the driveshaft and you have a really bad vibration, just do what was just stated.
