Lightbulb gutted interior...now what?

if all goes well, tomarrow ill be picking up a '92 240. One problem with the car besides the ebay lowering springs is that it is gutted minus the front seats and dash. Because i am planning on putting the interior back together i was just wondering what i should do next. A friend of mine has his entire car, under the carpet, dynomated. i was just wondering what everyone thinks about this. i really like the idea of a more quiet cabin butt i dunno bout the price and everything.
Also i hear alot about tac welding the frame and what not. What are going to be the advantages of this and is it going to be worth it?
sorry i just kinda want some ideas. im also very open to suggestions.

Most people here are more interested in lightening their cars by removing the stock deadening, not adding more weight and sound deadening.

yea I wouldnt put it back in, but I'm a whore. Anyway as far as seam welding your car, unless your planning on driving the shit out of this car and going to the track AT LEAST once a month, its not worth it. It sounds as if you dont really care about performance (at least not on that level), so dont bother.

If your looking for a quiet and comfy ride, get a Lexus, S13's are loud angry bitches...hehe I love her so.

putting the interior back in is gonna be a bitch... finding all the pieces and such. And personally i wouldnt dynamat the entire car. That shit is heavy. If anything i would do the rear hatch area and under the driver's side, cuz exhaust noise gets unruly ont he highway.

even with full interior + stock exhaust the 240sx is still loud as shit compared to new cars.

finding all the little pieces is going to be a pain in the ass unless you can find a mostly intact interior from a yard.

i would save myself the money and just live with it...

i think seam-welding would be worth it, even if he never tracks it. our cars are old and the chassis is flexy. I'd love to stiffen it up even though I only DD it.

Fuck stiffening it, put that money your gonna use into something else...like replacing every suspension bushing on the damn car or getting suspension work. Id only recommend seam welding it for you if 1) you have access to a welder, 2) weld good 3) youre so bored out of your skull you got nothing else better to do.

damn, i came in here to post stuff on how to lighten a car, but you want to make it more quiet.

rip off door cards, cut excess metal from inside of door, replace windows with lexan, pull plastic interior bits, pull electric seatbelt motors and runners.

I'm one to dynamat, I think I'll dynamat my coupe next summer if I still have it. We can still have a quiet sports car and not be stereotypical and say get a Lexus if you want quiet. Not everyone wants a loud daily driver and a half stripped vehicle from all the new 240s I see driving around(most new S chassis owners I've met all think stripping their daily driver 50-75% is Da Bomb is just gay).

dynamat is the biggest hunk of shit that i've ever wasted my time with. it makes a fuckin hell of a mess on the chassis and is an absolute pain in the ass to remove.

i say, put a fuckin blowtorch or some dry ice to any sound deadening, and enjoy a car that is light and tactful.

if you want quiet, go buy a fuckin caddy and end yourself. :-)

so i did end up picking the car up.
body and frame are GORGEOUS.
hard to find up north.
it has a catback on it. not sure of what kind.
I really like it stripped tho.
i love the lightweight feel of the car.
i might just put a back seat in it later on and tell people to get used to all the noise in the background of the phone and to me saying "huh?"

Seriously. The backseat is basically useless in a 240sx..no matter what year or style it is. The leg room is non existant. Just take it out.

That's only if your passengers most of the time are gorillas. I for one find it useful when picking up kids from school or brothers/sisters to go out or from work. If you're gonna get a two seater why not just go with a car that was a 2 seater to start out with?

Well having the back seats is nice because it looks more finished...which is important if you want to build a civilized daily driver.

Most people on here know nothing of this...

A WRX driver told me about it...

I don't get it
