A LONG read sorry, but this makes me want to quit my job
I normally wouldn't post something like this, but in all my time in this community no one has ever come at me like this. Read if you feel like reading, cliffsnotes is that pretty much this zilvian thinks im fake because i sell parts to modify a car but yet i tell people to not street race/mountain drive and i say that i dont condone it or do it myself.

This guys a fuckin' moron living three feet up his own asshole. You can tell by his response he's never REALLY modified a car heavily or driven much. After enough canyon runs, deaths, and crashes you learn the track is a much safer place to be for SERIOUS driving. 10/10ths driving. His analogies hold no water. People are responsible for themselves. If a fucking idiot buys a gun and shoots himself in the head do you attack the gunshop? The gun manufacturer? No you blame the suicide or the causes surrounding it not the tool. Logan sells tools. You do with them what you want. If you want to be responsible and use them at the track and not hurt anyone in the process so be it. I dont try to play it off like im cool guy street racer, but i cant change that ive made bad decisions in the past. im sure a lot of people on here have the same opinion on the issue.
i drive my shit hard, on the track. i spend a lot of money on parts to do so. most of the time on the street i drive like grandma. if thats being fake, then you can go tell all your buddies at the highschool lunch table about how chmercer is a poser and then go drag race your civics into a tree after class. |

Unfortunately, this kind of attitude coming from fellow forum members frustrates us all. I read the previous thread in reference here and the truth is most of us do not condone illegal street driving. Yes, its your choice whether you do or not and you can do whatever you like. No one other than the law is telling you not to.
The fact that we as vendors sell these parts do not make us hypocritcal or an "accessory". What you choose to do with your parts is your choice. Most of us encourage driving on the track for several reasons, just a few include: 1. It is safer for you as well as other drivers on the street (your mistakes on the street are not fair to other drivers) 2. The likelihood of you damaging your car is higher on the street than on the track. 3. Its illegal. Tickets, attorney fees and impound all suck. Anyone who this makes angry that we don't agree with "street drifting", etc needs to rethink the situation. We sell parts that encourage motorsports, not illegal activities. You don't see people driving full blown rally cars on the street do you? When was the last time you saw a full spec D1 car driving down the freeway? Both of these cars are built with parts we sell.

Logan, I know that guy, he has actually been around for awhile. Decent guy though he gets a little strong headed sometimes.
I agree with you, he went after you rather harshly and I think he did not choose his words wisely. I understand your position and agree. Its a vendors place to suggest proper use of the product rather than improper use. On top of that a lot of people fail to realize what is said on the forums is considered by law to published writing. In that sense anything said on the forums could possibly be used in a lawsuit. As far as people calling people posers that is just stupid immature bullshit IMHO. Fact is a person does not have to prove anything to anyone. You do what you do and have a right to do as so do I. You do not have to prove anything. To many people get caught up in the macho bullshit of prove it man. I have a fast car, I drive it. I am preparing it to do some track stuff. Fact is when I am ready to take it to the track I will. Am I a poser for not doing it before then? Unfortunately in some of the fucked up misguided eyes on this forum yes. Truth be it, I know what I have done in the past. There are people out there that know what I have done in the past. I do not have to prove jack shit, to the young fucking assholes on this forum, that seem intent on calling people posers because they have not seen I or anyone else at the track yet. Do I think street racing is wise? No. Did I do it when I was young and foolish? Yes. Would I do it today? No. For that reason I tell others do not make mistakes that I made. I was lucky the most that ever happened to me was exhibition of speed and reckless driving and loss of my drivers license for 6 months. I learned , the hard way. Some people are not as fortunate they die. Take it to the track, whenever possible people and do not call people posers, just because you do not know them.

Well, it really turned my stomach reading that stuff. I don't like reasoning like that.
The fact that we all drive or want to own trendy cars that can be drifted or are otherwise modify beyond stock while living in a society that is governed by people who live partially in an abstract vacuum, seperate from the reality we all live in. They dictate the law to the law enforcement who can harrass us and take our vehicles because of what we do with them. Now, selling performance car parts to the masses is profitable business. These parts are tested and built by companies who test their products on the track. They are not built to be long term reliable or meet manufacturer or government specifications. When these parts are sold to a member of public, the manufacturer and the middle man are not liable for what those things are used for. Is the rifle manufacturer responsible for the hunting rifle that is used to kill a person? No. Is the crystal ware manufacturer responsible for the person who uses their glass to consume deadly amounts of alcohol? Of course not. Put your argument in perspective. I don't think any of the examples I used are at all pertinent or realistic; they do point out how flawed this guys reasoning is. I understand what his main point is, but its fucked up to single out a person who has such a large personal and emotional stake in the big scheme that is the performance import car culture. Quote:
