miata battery sucks?

(On my sr20 s13}

Does anyone else have power issuse with the miata battery? I just installed a brand new DE alternator and brand new miata battery. I seem to still have a slight electrical problem sometimes the car doesn't want to start, the pyrometer guage goes nuts if the slim fans or the brake is used. Is there something broken or is this just the usual experiences with the miata battery. I was thinking of going back to a rear mount battery with the 240sx battery.

Autozone Miata battery FTW!

Seriously, no problems (yet). *knock on wood*

My Westco battery on the other hand never held a charge, and it was brand new.

I have a westco, even when my alternator wasnt hooked up it ran fine for a couple of days. And the car sits for days at a time and always starts right up. S14 with s13 sr, trunk mounted battery.

I had an Autozone Miata battery for my swap 3 years ago, and I just had to retire that battery because I let the car sit for 4 months and the battery had about 6 volts left in it when I took a reading from it last.

That battery never gave me troubles. I would sit there and crank the car over for minutes just to get the oil pressure going at times, and it would be fine, all the time.

So I replaced it with another Autozone battery last month. Working perfect as ever.

Oh, and it's also placed where the stock battery would sit, just sideways, so it clears the FMIC piping and still sits in the battery tray.
