Lets the laughs fly...
I had all my fluid capacities written down on a pad I left at a hotel in seattle, yeah I'm an idiot. I called the place when I realized what I'd done (a week later) and of course they had no idea what I was talking about. So I never bothered memorize all the capacities since I wrote them all down long long ago... now I have to change my oil... would someone for the love of god tell me how many quarts I should be sticking in there? <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> |

Advice:
You never know exactly how much you drained out. Best bet is to put a about 3.25 quarts in and start up the engine. let it idle until the oil light turns off. let it sit for about a minute. check the oil, and slowly keep adding and checking until it's at the 'full' line. then you'll have EXACTLY what you need <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]() Eric

Just so you know since there are other fluid capacities for the car, the owners manual that came with the car lists everything you should need.
For some reason the FSM and owners manuals don't agree on oil though. OM says 4qts and the FSM says 3 3/4 (3.5 w/o filter). I usually put in 4 as I jack up the opposite side of the car to let as much drain out as possible, as well as letting it drain for a few hours. Recently I had a small drip from my plug so I replaced the crush washer (and lost at least a 1/4 quart) yet the dipstick still reads full. I guess next time I'll try adding till it reads full and see if it changes.

After you fill up the oil filter with oil, it is exactly 3.75 quarts. Recently changed my oil. This puts you right at the Full marker.
