quick releases off ebay? any good?

I came across some steering wheel quick releases on ebay that are selling them at a fairly good price. Has anyone here gave it a try? how does it hold up as compared to the popular brands like NRG quick releases? any recommendations are welcome, thanks

I'll have to agree with Logan on this one. Seen too many knockoff QR and hubs leading to steering wheel tilt in drift.

For the best performance/price FET Quick Release, they're only like 60$.
Fo ballers, well, Logan's got yo shiz.

Yeah, its some crazy stuff.

It's the Works Bell GTC (Ball Lock System)

Instead of being a quick release, the GTC allows the user to tilt their steering wheel up to get out of the seat. This is effective for those who don't want to remove their wheel, but want quick access out of their car (at the track for example).

Will not develop play whatsoever due to ball lock system, and is solid as a brick. Made for the purpose of motorsports and racing use, not for looks (although it makes you look like a damn pimp).

This is the ORIGINAL, so if you see some company come out with their copy here in the states, you know who engineered, invented, and INNOVATED it first.

Are you guys talking about the FET thin QR that's only like 1" thick?

I just got a WB hub from Logan, it's badass no doubt, but I think it may place the steering wheel too close to me if I throw a full sized QR on top of that hub.

Who sells FET hubs still anyway?

Yes, thats the one they are talking about.

Works Bell Japan makes products for the company FET in Japan.

http://www.fet-japan.co.jp/fetsports/index.html

So if you see an "FET hub" or "FET quick release," it was manufactured by Works Bell.

Works Bell also makes all Splash products.

Yeah Logan, I gathered all that information from your various posts, but that post up there summed it all up.

What I meant was that, who still sells FET products, or even the Splash products, here in the US?

AFAIK no one really sells FET hardcore, just onesie twosies here and there.

I think Super Autobacs USA has the billet FET version, but its like $200?

Who cares about Splash, when you have Works Bell?

As far as the FET quick releases go, I think over the 100+ we sold in total, only 1 or 2 had a problem with the button spring. Whether or not that was user induced or the product itself, not sure.

Hahaha, man, I would so buy WB over all the other ones if I had the cash.

I am poor and just needed some added security of a removable steering wheel, that's all...

Well, Splash isn't cheap either. Pretty much same price as Works Bell (cause its the same thing essentially)

Just buy what's in your budget. Can't be mad at that.

Definitely can't be mad about the budget.

I was just saying how the fact that a full sized QR would most likely place the steering wheel way too close to my body.

That's why I brought up the thin FET or Splash hubs.
