As most of you know, I drive a 97' Honda Prelude...I point this question at the Nissan community because I want a first-hand opinion of what you guys think. You are probably thinking of the topic in your head now...yes...it is...the R-34 light conversion. Now just SAY I did that to my car. Would you guys give me dirty looks on the road? And would I have the complete disrespect of every single Nissan driver? I want to have my car looking nice, but I don't want to be looked down on by thousands of people. Now, with as little "flamage" as possible, your opinions?

It depends on who you're showing your car to. If it's to most of the guys on this forum, I'm sure they wouldn't really dig it. If you show it to a bunch of people who love FATF, then i'm sure they'll just go nuts (EX: "damn that shiat is tight yo!" "It's the Schiznit!".) It just really depends on which group you want to impress the most. But if it looks clean, is well done, you never know who you'll impress.

I think the stock Prelude is a good looking car in itself, even sexier with a front lip.

I think someone posted a picture of an R34 conversion on a prelude about a month or two ago. It looked really clean. However I've always been one against automobile crossbreeding.

hey sprungscorp, r u referring to that white & blue Sky/Lude that's at all the SoCal shows? if u get the R34 front like he does, at least don't copy that damn double wing crap. damn that wing on the roof is hideous.

oh, thank u for not considering an S15 front end. i've seen enough S15 fronts on hondas already. or u can join the new trend, altezza fronts. u can make a SeXE-Lude. (Altezza = SXE-10)

btw, i'm not trying to flame u. i'm just venting and ranting at the same time. I WAS PROMISED S15 SILVIAS AT IREV IN ANAHEIM!!! only the front ends showed up! argh!

Maybe I'm just a little more liberal on this... but if it was done cleanly then I'd say go for it. Now, if you're gonna throw a bunch of stickers and bling bling on the car... then no, but just a simple (looks simple, but isn't really) tail light swap then I'd respect it... maybe not like it (I'd have to see it) but I wouldn't call you a ricer for something that looked clean.

It's your car and your money so do what you want but me personally I love the look of the s15. But I can't have an s15 I can have a s13 so I am content. I've just never been a fan of making a car something its not. It's the performance and the looks that make up the overall beauty of the r34. To each their own so whatever you do, do it right and to the best of your ability and bank account

i can beat that.... I was down at a drag strip with some friends when a Moostang GT pulls up to run and we look at the side badge and instead of saying GT its the GT-R badge! On a muscle car! All my friends, from supercharged Cobra to Civic with B18C swap laughed at him.

its your money...but IMO you're just wasting it. None of those cosmetic upgrades will affect performance, and cheapens the value of the car. When you get older and want to sell it, you will be hard pressed to do so.

I believe Honda is Honda, Nissan is Nissan, and Toyota is Toyota, etc. I am not putting your idea down but this is my way of thinking. People dont like men's genitalia, on women (if you know what I mean), and vise versa (with all do respect). People dont like Michael Jackson becoming white. To me its the same thing. I like Michael's music, but its still not nice. I really dont like different company parts on other cars. If you want your car to look like a Skyline, you should put an RB25 in it. I am the same with Silvia convs. If I want an S15 kit, I am going to have an SR in it first. I dont mean to flame, or put anybody down, or make anyone mad, or hurt anybody's feelings. But if I have done any of these things, I am sorry. But this is my prespective and I stay with it. Sorry for the unnecessary content too. But I just said it to prove a point.

Thanks for you opinions guys...(just to let you know, I took none of those replies as offensive, it's your opinion so it's cool with me) the thing is, I haven't done any cosmetic upgrades to my car as of yet, I'm putting performance as a priority. (Aside from a steering wheel, as my hands tend to sweat fo no reason). And I don't plan to for at least another year. After that, I will probably get this conversion...but I'm not trying to pass it of as a R-34 as some dumbassess do, my Prelude is a Prelude, but all I want to do is give it nicer lights.

Yea, thats the one....he did the lights really clean, and yes that wing (actually both wings) looked like shit. No way in hell I'm gettin a wing like that. Oh and did you see that red one with huge wide-body fenders by KarKraft (I think)? That was badd....

Honestly man. If I were you, I wouldnt spend so much on a Skyline kit. I really think the Prelude looks really nice and clean. And it looks good already. Thats my opinion though. And if you modify your car a lot, the Lude grows into the mods and it becomes a nice looking car already. Of course if it is modified well and correctly. Just sharing what I think man. PEACE, and good luck on it.

I agree...the Lude looks good stock...but I've always wanted a "WTF is that??" (in a good way) reaction...you know, like a head turner...but I'm not 100% sure if I'm gonna go with it...but I'll keep you guys posted..

i can beat that.... I was down at a drag strip with some friends when a Moostang GT pulls up to run and we look at the side badge and instead of saying GT its the GT-R badge! On a muscle car! All my friends, from supercharged Cobra to Civic with B18C swap laughed at him.

You may have witnessed the Mustang Cobra Type-R, i beleive they have a GT-R emblem on them.

True, but then I take it that you think the RB26DETT drop in Top Secret's Supra was a bad idea? Or are engines completely diffrent from cosmetics?

There's a mustang running around in Hawaii with a GTR badge on it. Geez. What the hell makes his car a GTR? Absolutly nothing!

As for the automobile crossbreeding, once again, no thanks. Keep it within the species.

As I see it, if you don't like the look of your car, why the hell would you buy it in the first place? My main objection is you're trying to make something look like something it isn't.

Granted, imitation IS the highest form of flattery, but in some cases it's just ghey.

btw, nothing personal sniper, but I don't care for your sig
