finally Ka-t installed....but not running right???

hey everyone I finally turbo'd my DOHC KA in my s13, Im running sr injectors, fmic, T25 and SAFC2,N60 MAF (blowthrew setup mounted by the TB). I finally got it in and shes starting up but its idling very weird. First off my idle says above 2000RPM and doesn't want to come down. Secondly when I touch the throttle is stumbles etc. Im going to try a different vaccume source because I tapped into a line that used to go into the air intake (Im a noob). Also I noticed a bit of smoke comming from the turbo, is it just burning the excess crap off?? Its a T25 with oil and coolent lines and I only have the oil lines hooked up. I will post up a vid of the problem in the next about 20 mins, does anyone know where to tap in the vaccume line? LMK asap I need my car to get to work tomorrow haha.

Safc 2 Settings

HW In 2 out 5

All settings are on 0% because I had it in while N/A (I dont know what to set it too)

thanks
James

In blowthrough setup.. your MAF should be a couple of inches away from the TB. I forgot about the optimum distance.. its been a long time since i did research for my old ka-t.

as for vacuum lines,
this is what i did in my old ka-t,
Weld a nipple on the hotpipe, and connect a vacuum hose to the wastegate nipple (add a boost controller solenoid here if you have one).
Theres another nipple on the intake manifold, use that for blowoff valve & boost gauge (using T junction nipple).

Search for older ka-t posts (like in 2003-2004), theres a bunch of uselful infos in those posts/threads.
look for AceInHole posts.. he was one of the ka-t pioneer.

and of course you need to tune that SAFC right, I have never used SAFC before so I can't really help.
I suggest finding someone with similar setup and consult.

as for the smoke.. its probably some excess stuff.. or maybe it has something to do with your safc tune... or maybe the turbo seals are going out (unless if you already rebuild the turbo)

Good luck

And think about going somewhere to do a "tune" on the safc. A place that knows what its doing and has experience can produce good results in about an hour. This has been the experience with a few friends of mine with safcs.

SAFC=:ghey: but thats a different story.

With a T25 the stock maf doesnt max out until about 10psi. I dont even know if a t25 will push that on a ka. I am only running seven psi on my T25. Dont want to go any higher than that for the turbo's sake.

Go here for all your safc questions...
