ok wheel fitment question (SEARCHED LIKE CRAZY!)

OK i'm not a noob, and I've searched like crazy for like 2 weeks.

I want to put FN01R-C 17x10 +12 on all 4 corners of my S13. I already have wide fenders, and the rear wont be a problem. The front might be because it wont clear coilovers. Has anyone done this? I have scene it on only 2 other cars, and the were S14's.

I will probably run 235/40/17's on all 4 as well, I would like advice on this as well.

Pics would be great, flaming not so much. I hate asking questions like this.

it depends on your coilovers, but i dont think it will clear most coilovers
they are 17x10 plus 12, which sticks in as far as a 17x9 plus 24 (plus 12)
that would not clear most s13 coilovers that i know of, however it might, i know on my car (s14) i need no higher offset than like 17 on a 9j wheel.

10s are kinda wide for the fornt, esp for a drift car, but if you wanna do it go for it, ive never tried it so i cant comment but i know of some drift cars that have run 10s up front with great sucess (yellow 326 power fc for example, not a s13 though)

but ya, youll probably need spacers, which you should still be ok with fitting fender wise since you have overfenders, just run like 235 40 or no bigger or something, since thats really your only option i guess you could go bigger, but 225 45 is kinda tall for front and 215 40 is pretty gnarly stretch on a 10 but i guess you could lol and 225 40 i think only nitto makes it and thats bobo so ya

10 +12 can be doable.

Im running 9.5 +17 with no spacer on KTS.

Just slot the top bolt to get some more clearance if you have to, you can pretend your Mr.Engineer by saying its for better scrub radius.

If this is a track car like it seems like I doubt you'll need to hammer much, you won't have full lock, but w/e.

No, slot one of the bolt holes for the front coilovers where they mount to the spindles. That's the only way you will gain clearance. Messing with the camber plates won't help. Also, keep in mind that tire size will be important. You will have to run stretched tires in order to have any chance of clearing the coils.

Edit: Nevermind, read that you are gonna run 235s. That will be plenty of stretch, but you still might need spacers.

If you are at all low you will have to do some fenderwell hammering if you ever want to get to full lock. I was rubbing fenderwells like crazy even back when I had weakass 16x7s up front.

With 17x9s and bigger and decent castor, you should definately have a go at the front part of the fender tubs with a sledge.

BTW, is this gonna be for a grip car? 17x10s and 235s don't really make much sense in that case because 235s fit just fine on 9s or even 8s. 235 on a 10 is too much stretch if you are looking for peak grip.

Just do it, and add spacers on until it fits... and then smash things until they fit better.

Dan's guide to proper wheel fitment.
1. Buy sweet wheel
2. Smash car until wheel fits. Fire, blunt objects and threats of rape are perfectly acceptable means of making wheels fit.

its either i'm reading things wrong or watever but.....17x10 +12 DOES NOT equal 17x9 +24.

17x10 +12 would EQUAL 17x9 +2

i don't see how there should be any clearence in coilover problems with that.

however, fender issues and hitting full-lock would be an issue that i could foresee.

We are talking in terms of coilover clearance. So, YES IT DOES.

I was running 17x10 +12 with 8mm spacers up front to clear my MR coils in the S14. 235/40 front and 245/40 rears. Once in while the rim lip will grind the springs, so i just jack the car and turn the spring so it wont touch the lip and im good for a month or so. As far as the inner fender, the biggest issue i had was the wiring harness. I relocated it as far as moving it out of the way (tucked in on the outside chassis lip after cutting a slot on the support brace), but the tire was slightly chewing up the rubber bushing thing off the wiring harness.

Yes you will have to bust the sledge hammer (in my case, a 25 lbs dumbell) to give yourself more room in the turns. As far as the need of spacers, depends on what kind and how long youll have the car setup. If you have it raised high enough where the perches will sit above the rim lip itself, itll clear, then again...were all gonna have to call you 4x4 drifter
