sr20det redtop problem

i just installed a sr20det in my friends car and i started it up and it kind of idled rough maybe due to a vacuum leak but it smoked (fuel smoke) and i revved it up and i misses somewhere around 2,500 rpm or so. i reset the timing. tried a different MAF. changed out the ECU. he has and upgraded o2 housing and we couldnt run the stock o2 sensor so we bought a universal Bosch o2 and spliced into the wiring. someone told me that the o2 sensor could be wired up wrong or the TPS could be reading a funky voltage. i have heard that the 255 walbro could be dumping too much fuel. i dont know where to go and im running out of options. if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

What size injectors are you running? Check to see if one of the o-rings isnt squashed. Are you running SAFCII? My car did the same exact thing witht he SAFCII, it was wired wrong. The SECOND we took it off the ECU it fired up perfectly.

make sure all the wires going to the ECU are connected properly. Sounds like a MAF issue.

im not running a o2 sensor and it runs fine according to my wideband, although the problem u r describing sounds similar to something that happened when my tps was slightly disconnected, id try fiddling with it or replacing it

the TPS is connected securely but i think it might be reading an incorrect voltage. i have tried two different sr MAFs but still the same result.
