Clutch or Transmission Problems. Help!

So tonight on the way home from work I was exiting the freeway and hit a little bump then after that heard a sort of clunk right under me. When I stopped at a light I tried to put it in gear and it was like I was trying to switch into gear without pushing the clutch in and then it stalled. The clutch got noticeably stiffer and it isn't even engaging anymore. With the car off and the clutch not engaged the gears go through fine. Anybody have any ideas?

might have been your master cylinder or slave cylinder...that's just from the sounds of the shifting problem and clutch problem though. Im not to sure about how a bump might have been able to do that so meh.

bent clutch fork??? maybe. if clutch is hydraulic check fluids if good check the lines maybe one got pinched. other than that ????? sounds like the clunk might of been you hitting something and pinching a line so i'd go with that

Was it raining by any chance? If it was and water got onto the clutch disc it would cause it to just slip like a mother.

In other words, if you have a decently sized hole for any kind of debris/liquids to get in that's gonna give you hell

Kyle, what you just described is pretty much exactly what I felt when one of the springs on my clutch disk busted itself out and wedged itself against the pressure plate.

You can still drive it if you don't have a clutch start switch... Just start the car in first, and shift without the clutch. Float through the gears.

^It it was the slave cylinder, he'd have NO pedal. He said the pedal is super heavy.

mostl likely its what soreballz said! but if you recently did your clutch and flywheel recently it could be one of your bolts coming loose from your flywheel! you'll hear the flywheel clunking when when stepping on the clutch peddle!
