wtf? headlights are being stupid

I put my s13 silvia front end on my hatchback a couple of months ago. I put the sylvania silverstar bulbs in, instead of the regular ones. everything was working fine until recently. Lately when I put my brights on, the left side comes on, but the right side turns completely off. If I flip the brights on and off, the left one will come on, and the right will go off, or the right will come on and the left will go off, or they will both come, on or niether of them will come on. I dont understand what would be causing this? I have the brick style headlights, so I used the stock harness for the main lights, and spliced into the motor harness for the fog lights. There is no cuts or anything in the main headlight harness. It never did this before, and I didn't modify the stock headlight harness? Only thing I can think of is that it is grounding out somewhere? If any one has had this problem, or know what it might be, your input would be appreciated.

Check your headlight and turn signal combination switch. Usually the contacts go bad and you lose one light like that.

Remove the steering clumn cover with 4 screws on the bottom. Then unscrew the combo switch.

You can try cleaning them, or get a new one from your local auto parts store.

Check your headlight relays. Mate of mine was having issue with s14 headlights. Dip beams would work fine, but when high beams were flicked on right side light went out completely while left light went to high beam (normal dip light + high beam I think, 2 bulbs anyway).
Turned out to be a relay.
