s13 ow to repair/rebuild my Rack and Pinion

i was wondering if thares any guides telling me how to repair/rebuild my Rack and Pinion? or whare can i get a new one?

i have one, but i cant find it in the s13 one because mine has no index, i found one new for 230, is that over priced?

from what i hear, it is a pain to rebuild one. Much easier to simply order a reman one. I will be getting mine soon for around the same price as you mentioned. Just trying to find the hicas one.

I know they have stock steering racks for S13s on Ebay for around 140....last I looked anyways. The only reason I know is because mine is shoddy and feels like I have manual steering when its cold out, lol, that and I leak fluid from it now a lil bit.

Oh yeah, where can I DL the FSM as well, someone was supposed to send it to me, but never got back to me...

Definitely buy a reman unit, I've disassembled a rack before just for humor and it's more than most people can handle, plus it's very precision work. All the seals and o-rings inside take a lot of patience to put back in right without creating more leaks. Even the dealer doesn't do it anymore, they just core it out for a new unit off the shelf.

I wouldn't just get any reman rack. Buying a new one is 1300 though. Look around and ask what type of seals they use.

just get a reman'ed one..
i picked one up from ebay for 100 bux.. cant beat it.
and while your replacing the rack, dont forget to upgrade yer bushings
