Don't be ghetto.

Just pay a professional $100 something to do it for you.

They will even come to your house or work or wherever.

Exactly, its not that simple. You'll more than likely end up breaking it if you try and do it yourself.

I need to replace mine also, it's just pitted bad but I was wondering if it's better to use the OEM window seal or do they use something similar or a cheap replacement seal?

LOL Logan, Tyrone FTW! "There's one thing I gotta tell you Joe Rogan.. I smoke rocks!"

Seriously, Safelite will come to you and replace your glass for about $250. There might also be other places local to you that do the same for competitive prices, Google might be able to help.

i bought my first s13 w/ a cracked windshield. i found a good one in the junkyard. i went w/ the
glass guy to the junkyard to pick it up (his truck is better suited than your hatch). he came to the
house, switched em w/ pit crew speed. $20 windsheild, $50 for the guy. done and done.

There usually a crew of mobile window people outside the junkyard. Sometimes the junkyard have a side shop that does replacement as well. Ask them. It like 20-100 bucks depending on some junkyard.

I've tried to pull windshields out of every car I've cut up, which is nearing 30 by now.

I've never been successful. Buy a new one.

ya go to a pro.

you guys have a good deal on that stuff. up here in ND, $200 just for the windshield then install, that is from the glass shop. and if you want a HUD windshield its over $1000.

for those that have gotten their S13 windshield replaced with the window company's glass... did it still have the tint strip at the top?

I've been getting this crack on the top left and have been watching it grow across.

I think some have the blue fade tint thing

You should replace that soon, as it heats in the sun the crack will get longer

On top of that, a cracked window is another thing a cop can ticket you for / give you a hard time about. Technically it's illegal.

keep calling local glass repair men, you'll find a good price. im positive its only going to be 140 for glass, and 20 dollars of labor. if your going to do it yourself, its just not worth it.

If your going to spend money on a new windshield, do it right. It is a structical part of the car believe it or not. Get a PPG glass and have a profesional install it. Don't buy the cheap glass as they are more prone to cracking as you'll just replace it sooner. The part number for the PPG is FW780 for the s14. The glass guys usually have the molding but you will need to let them know. Don't get ripped off on the molding as they are usually around $20. Some idiot gave me the windshield to a jeep cherokee so I had to call the corporate office and get the right part number. Don't go to High Quality Auto Glass in the City of Industry.

damn kndacomplx, you really lost a finger? was it highschool woodshop class status? lol. i remember some kid cut his finger clean off with the band saw. They put it in a baggie with ice.

I'm guessing those window replacement people use universal moulding? Think they will sell me just the moulding and sealant so i can do it myself? 18 years of socal sun wasnt very nice to mine...
