my hotpipe is bigger than yours *neener neener*
I have been getting mixes responses about replacing my hotpipe. Out of 5 people, 3 have recommended me bumping back down to a 2 inch hotpipe *had a 2.50 before* They are saying that the extra half inch will cause lag from my specR t28. I have a project nissan hotpipe sitting in my office but dont know what to do with it
a) keep it and replace the bigger couplers b) send it back for a greddy 2.50 Anyone else want to discuss what would be best for me to run?

id worry more about your intake pipe collapsing than the diameter of your hotpipe (i think the difference will be minimal in performance). so yea, do you have a hardpipe intake?

You'll never reach the level where it's a big restriction with a T28...JUST USE IT.
And the "lag" thing...that's so minimal, it's not even measurable (i.e. the volume of that short pipe, 2.0 diameter versus 2.5 diameter...will make ZERO difference) - Brian

I have a GT28R with 2.5" piping all around with 3" exhaust from Elbow to muffler on a CA18DET.
On stock manifold I would start building boost at 2200rpms and by 2700rpms already at full boost. On my SSAC manifold I start building boost at 2600rpms and full boost at 3100rpms. |
